C-ll

002878

Item 12 - Section 208 (Water Quality Plinning). Little apparent
interest at present but may be more as Water Quality plans are developed.

Item 13 - Vern Valantine suggested that the subcommittee develop a
recommendation to the Executive Subcommittee relative to the next step in
the "Vegetation Management for Water Yield Improvement in the Colorado Basin"
project. Ron Hibbert has now completed the State of the Aft report (titled
as above) and the PSIAC should now decide whether to drop the project at
that stage or continue to the next stage, which is the feasibility study.
The Water and Vegetation Management Subcommittee decided to recommend to the
Executive Subcommittee that the Forest Service be asked to prepare a Plan of
StUqy for a possible feasibility study. The POS would then be used to decide
whether to do the feasibility study, recognizing that such a study will be
a large undertaking which will require a substantial commitment of money and
manpower. (The recommendation was presented to the Executive Subcommittee
on the following day.)

Item 14 - The subject of subcommittee chairmanship was discussed
bri efly. No takers.
