The apparent low bidder was Syb1on-Reid Company of Ogden, <br />Utah, with a bid of $695,802. <br /> <br />Relocation of State Highway No. 152 around San Luis Dam and Reservoir <br />has been completed and was opened with ceremonies on Apr il ~9. <br /> <br />Bids were opened in May for completion of Mile 18. Pumping Plant on the <br />San Luis Canal including installation of pumping units and switchyard con- <br />struction. The apparent low bid of $2,832,607 was submitted by Gunther <br />and Shirley Company and E. V. Lane Corporation, a joint venture. <br /> <br />Three sections of San Luis Canal totaling over 70 miles are under con- <br />struction and excavation; trimming and lining.operations are all underway. <br />Specifications were issued in April and bids are scheduled to be opened <br />in June for the fourth section of 9.4 miles of 60-foot, bottom width canal. <br /> <br />Bid calls expected in May and June include construction of a l7-mile reach <br />of the Tehama- Colusa Canal, concrete lined with a bottom width varying <br />from 52 to 24 feet. Bid calls are also scheduled for constructionof 94 <br />miles of 500 kilovolt transmis sion line from the Oregon border to Round <br />Mountain, a portion of the Pacific Southwest-Pacific Northwest Intertie. <br /> <br />The Department of Interior has recommended that Congress enact legis- <br />1ation to re-authorize Central Valley Project to include New Hogan and <br />Black 'Butte dams and reservo irs constructed by the 'Corps of Engineers. <br />Proposed legislation would provide financial integration and operational <br />coordination of the two dams with Central Valley Project, while physical <br />operation would remain with the Corps of Engineers. <br /> <br />GEmeral <br /> <br />Emergency flood repairs along the Truckee and Carson Rivers in Nevada <br />have been completed and at Hoopa Valley Indian Reservation in 'Humboldt <br />County all flood damage repairs are scheduled for completion by June 10. <br /> <br />The water supply outlook for the coming season is excellent. Shasta Lake <br />filled on May 5 with 4. 5 million acre-feet. Clair Engle Lake behind Trinity <br />Dam filled on May 17 with 2.48 million acre-feet. <br /> <br />Lake Berryessa behind Monticello Dam, Solano Project, filled and has <br />been spilling since April 8.
