<br />002.'3?lt <br /> <br />DepartI!).ent of the Interior, <br /> <br />Regional Coordinator Pacific SW Region <br /> <br />The first listing of federally-funded research in:water and related <br />resources has been published by the ,Office of Wate'r Resources Research. <br />The 450-page publication is titled "Water Resources Research Catalog, rr <br />and is available from the Superintendent of Documents at $2.50 each. <br />One purpose of the catalog is to stimulate exchange of information among <br />researchers and their organizations of all efforts inwaterresources <br />research, according to Dr. Roland R. Renne, director of the Office of <br />Water Resources Research. <br /> <br />Bureau of Reclam'ation <br />Region 2 Sacramento <br /> <br />!nvestigations in,Progress <br /> <br />The proposed feasibility report on the Allen Camp 'Unit was transmitted <br />to the Co mm issiimer and the Chief Engineer for review and approval. The <br />propos ed report for Pleasant Oak Unit and final Kellogg Unit are expected <br />to be completed before,june 30. <br /> <br />Construction <br /> <br />Central Valley Project -- Construction was started on a $4.2 million <br />contract, for 'the Corning Water District's water distribution system includ- <br />ing 60 miles of pipeline, two reservoirs and six pumpirigplants. <br /> <br />Bids were opened in April for constru~tion of the main aqueduct and distri- <br />bution system of the Clear Creek South Unit of CVP. The contract was <br />awarded in'May to Baker-Anderson Company of Santa Ana, California, on <br />a low bid of $1,878,833. ' ". . , <br /> <br />A contract was awarded in April to supply and install 2 additional pu~p- <br />ing un.its for Corning Pumping Plant. The low bid of $332,934 was sub- <br />mitted by Rensc;' Ass;'ciates of New Jersey. <br /> <br />A $2.2 million contract for construction of LittlePanoche Creek Denten- <br />tionDam was awarded to Darkenwald Construction Company and Morrison- <br />Knuds en Company, a joint venture. This dam which will retain poss ible <br />flood flows of Little Panoche Creek and permit the SanLuis Canal to cross <br />the streambed on grade is an earthfill dam 120 feet high, crest length <br />1,440 feet. <br /> <br />Bids were opened in April for realignment of a portion of Delta-Mendota <br />Canal and construction of a State highway bridge and portions of other <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br />. .
