Power production releases at near plant capacity would reduce. Buffalo Bill
Reservoir storage to 186,000 acre-feet by March 31. With Heart Mountain
Powerplant scheduled for maintenance during January, the end of March con-
tent would be about 17,000 acre-feet above minimum desirable storage prior to
stet,t of the irrigation season. Heart Mountetin and Shoshone Powerpl:1nts would
continue to be operated at near capability from May through September. Since
normal irrigation demands exceed powerplant capacity during most of the irri-
gation season, additional bypass releases would be made througb the ri vel' outlets.
The reservoir would fill to capacity during July and 81,000 acre-feet woul.d be
spilled to the river in excess of irrigation and power requirements. Carryover
storage of 308,000 acre-feet would be near normal.

Power Production

With most probable water supplies, the Western Division System would produce
approximately 1,710 gigawatt hours of energy during Water Year 1972. About 4
gigawatt hours would be scheduled as return to the system for power interference
at Green Mountain Powerplant. Import of 428 gigawatt hours would be required
from the P-SMBP Eastern Division System to meet estimated Western Division
System power loads of 2,086 gigawatt hours.
