A!cOl':! Resen'oir would remain at normal wInter operating levels through Feb-
ruC\ry. Inere~sed release from PC\thfi nder Rcservoi r in March would refill Alcova
Rcscl'loir to thc normal summ"r rccreation level (Elevation 5498) or storage
content of I 7~. 000 acre-feet and obtain operational position for planned release
ofsurplus ri\.er water to Nebraska. The summer operatingle\'el would be main-
+
tained within - onc foot to provide a nearly constant water surface for recreational
[1l"'[1oscs. Relcases to the Casper Canal totaling; 70,000 acre-feet would be
scheduled f1'UI11 ~Iay through September for Kendrick project irrigation neecls.
I)ra\\'dO\\Ol of ..\!cOl'a Resen'oir to the winter operating level would be achieved
arter Oc\o\)('r 1. Releases from Alco\'a Resen'oir would be re-regulated in Gray
Reef Resen'oir to maintain daily river release fluctuations within permissible
limits.

Gray Reef

;(.'J

The winter release at Gray Reef Reservoir would continue at 900 e. f. s. during
February. Winter releases may be limited to less than 900 c. f. s. with severe
river ice conditions. The Gray Reef release would be increased to 2,000 c. f. s.
during March and April to facilitate the planned early release of surplus river
water to Nebraska. Thereafter, releases would be made a5 required up to the
capability of Fremont Canyon Powerplant to meet downstream irrigation demands.
With normal irrigation requirements, bypass of Fremont Canyon Powerplant
would not be required.

Glendo and Guernsey

Scheduled release would not be made from Glendo Reservoir during February.
March and April releases would be made to refill Guernsey Reservoir to normal
summer content of 35,000 acre-feet and release surplus water to Nebraska.
Thereafter, Glenda releases would be made as required to satisfy downstream
irrigation needs. The September release would lower Glenda and Guernsey
reservoirs to the desired normal year-end contents of 60,000 and 1,000 acre-
feet, respectively. Surplus river water totaling 220,000 acre-feet would be
released to Nebraska during March and April, and full seasonal irrigation de-
liveries of 1,050,000 and 12,000 acre-feet would be made to the North Platte
project and the Glendo unit.

If normal water supplies develop during 1972, North Platte projects storage water
ownership would fill during June and remain above average (434,000 acre-feet)
