Boysen

Boysen Reservoir storage at the beginning of the water year was 741,000 acre-
feet which was above normal. An average powerplant release of 1,400 c. f. s.
would he required to mect the desired operational position of 580,000 acre-feet
on January 31. Scheduled m:dntenance of the powerplant units during November
anel December would not interfere with the normal winter operation.

Buffalo Bill

Buffalo Bill Reservoir storage at the beginning of the water year, 358,000 acre-
feet, was above normal. Releases for power production and downstream 'require-
ments would reduce storage to 250, 000 acre-feet on January 31. Heart Mountain
Powerplant would be operated at capacity through January 3, then shut down for
scheduled maintenance through .January 21. With the exception of scheduled main-
tenance during November, all Shoshone Powerplant units would be operated near
capacity throughout the October-January period.

Power Production

Winter generation of the Western Division System would be limited by above
normal carryover storage in the North Platte Ri vel' area and the terminal reser-
voirs of the Colorado- Big Thompson project. During the October-January period,
net winter generation would average 107 gigawatt hours per month. Heavy energy
imports of 70 gigawatt hours per month would be required from the P-SMBP
Eastern Division to .meet Western Division System. loads.
