The Operation Plan After Fe.bruary 1
If Most P!,(Jb"ble Inflow Were Forecast

Green Mountain

Green Mount,dn Reservoir releases lor replacement, power production, ancl
1'i\'er and reservoir regulation would reduce storage to the desirable minimum
of :'.0,000 aCl'E'-feet by April 30. Thereafter, releases would be adjusted as
required tofiH the !'eservoir (154, GOO acre-feet) by July 31. Releases for down-
stream requiremenlsdu1'ing AuguMandSeptember would leave normal carryover
storage at the end of the water year. Anticipated diversion of 40,000 acre-feet
from the Blue River by Denver and Colorado Springs would cause 8.4 gigawatt
hOllrs of power interference to Green Mountain Powerplant.

Willow Creek

;i;~)

Willow Creek Reservoir would provide a constant release of 7 c. f. s. through
April 30 to enhance fishery flows in the Colorado River. Thereafter, most
probable runoff would allow pumping all water in excess of downstream require-
ments to Lake Granby. A totaf of 43,000 acre-feet would be pumped to Lake
Granby during the water year. .

East Slope - CBTProject

Supplemental water deliveries of 206, 000 acre-feet would be made to the Colorado-
Big Thompson project during the February-September period. With above normal
carryover storage in east slope reservoirs, transmountain diversions through
Adams Tunnel would average about 450 c. f. s. during February, March, and the
remainder of April after Pole Hill Powerplant maintenance. Thereafter, with
Carter Lake and Horsetooth Reservoirs filled to eapacity by May 31, Adams
Tunnel diversions would be limited to about 250 e. f. s. for the remainder of the
year. Available Big Thompson River water totaling 39,000 aere-feet would be
diverted to the Foothills Power System at Lake Estes. About 8,000 acre-feet
of available Big Thompson River water would be bypassed at Lake Estes during
June because of Adams Tunnel cliversions required to prevent spill of Lake Granby.
Available Big Thompson River water would also be bypassed at Tunnel No.1
during June and July when the irrigation deliveries and Big ThOlupsonRiver water
diverted at Lake Estes exceed Big Thompson Powerplant capacity.
