Keynote papers <br /> <br /> <br />were presented concerning the Water Resources Planning Act. <br /> <br /> <br />Over 200 individuals from various governmental agencies critically <br /> <br /> <br />evaluated accomplishments under the Water Resources Planning Act. <br /> <br /> <br />The seminar summary contains many recommendations for strengthening <br /> <br /> <br />the Water Resources Planning Act. <br /> <br /> <br />ICWP representatives worked closely with WRC staff in <br /> <br /> <br />developing the program and were responsible for obtaining <br /> <br /> <br />panel leaders, panelists and general management of the seminar. <br /> <br /> <br />Representatives of ICWP were selected to moderate the three <br /> <br /> <br />panels. . <br /> <br /> <br />A seminar summary was published which outlined in detail <br /> <br /> <br />the work of the three panels and includes the keynote addresses <br /> <br /> <br />for the Conference. The summary also contains many recommen- <br /> <br /> <br />dations for improving planning procedures under the Act. Wide <br /> <br /> <br />distribution of the summary was made in order to assure that <br /> <br /> <br />all agencies involved in water and related land resources <br /> <br /> <br />planning had an opportunity to review the seminar recommenda- <br /> <br /> <br />tions. <br /> <br /> <br />Excerpts from the summary are attached as Exhibit Band <br /> <br /> <br />outline in general the operating details of the seminar. <br /> <br /> <br />c) State and Federal Water Officials Meeting, June 8-l0, 1971. <br /> <br /> <br />ICWP co-sponsored with WRC, the Fifth Annual Conference of <br /> <br /> <br />State and Federal Water Officials in Des Moines, Iowa, June 8-l0, <br /> <br /> <br />1971.
