ICWP had only 5 days to obtain the assistance of a State employee

for the designated duties in Washington, D.C., quick coordinated

action on the part of ICWP officers found such an individual.

As of May l, 1972 the summary and review of the comments

on the Proposed principles and Standards was 75% completed.

Mr. Christianson left Washington on May 2nd to return to

Utah, where he will complete the review. The finished report

will consist of a summary of the comments received, and will

not contain any recommendations. The report will identify and

summarize approximately 25 issues which reoccur with significant

frequency in the 4,37l comments received.

In addition to Christianson's report, Jack W, Pepper,

Chairman of the Legislative Committee of ICWP drafted a statement

on the Proposed principles and Standards which included recom-

mendations. This statement, which was based on materials made

available by the Executive Committee of ICWP, was submitted to

the Water Resources Council subject to amendment by the Executive

Committee.

b) ICWP - WRC Seminar, February 2~4, 1971, Cincinnati, Ohio.

The Interstate Conference on Water Problems co-sponsored a

seminar entitled "Water and Related Land Resources Management -

The Challenge Ahead" with the Water Resources Council in

Cincinnati, Ohio, February 2-4, 1971. The purpose of the seminar

was to provide a five-year review of the Water Resources Planning

Act of 1965. Three different panels were concerned with:
