<br />-8- <br /> <br />ICWP had only 5 days to obtain the assistance of a State employee <br /> <br /> <br />for the designated duties in Washington, D.C., quick coordinated <br /> <br /> <br />action on the part of ICWP officers found such an individual. <br /> <br /> <br />As of May l, 1972 the summary and review of the comments <br /> <br /> <br />on the Proposed principles and Standards was 75% completed. <br /> <br /> <br />Mr. Christianson left Washington on May 2nd to return to <br /> <br /> <br />Utah, where he will complete the review. The finished report <br /> <br /> <br />will consist of a summary of the comments received, and will <br /> <br /> <br />not contain any recommendations. The report will identify and <br /> <br /> <br />summarize approximately 25 issues which reoccur with significant <br /> <br /> <br />frequency in the 4,37l comments received. <br /> <br /> <br />In addition to Christianson's report, Jack W, Pepper, <br /> <br /> <br />Chairman of the Legislative Committee of ICWP drafted a statement <br /> <br /> <br />on the Proposed principles and Standards which included recom- <br /> <br /> <br />mendations. This statement, which was based on materials made <br /> <br /> <br />available by the Executive Committee of ICWP, was submitted to <br /> <br /> <br />the Water Resources Council subject to amendment by the Executive <br /> <br /> <br />Committee. <br /> <br /> <br />b) ICWP - WRC Seminar, February 2~4, 1971, Cincinnati, Ohio. <br /> <br /> <br />The Interstate Conference on Water Problems co-sponsored a <br /> <br /> <br />seminar entitled "Water and Related Land Resources Management - <br /> <br /> <br />The Challenge Ahead" with the Water Resources Council in <br /> <br /> <br />Cincinnati, Ohio, February 2-4, 1971. The purpose of the seminar <br /> <br /> <br />was to provide a five-year review of the Water Resources Planning <br /> <br /> <br />Act of 1965. Three different panels were concerned with: <br /> <br /> <br />A - To Coordinate Federal Programs, B - To Provide Workable <br /> <br />0709 <br />
