<br />-7- <br /> <br />Section 4 <br /> <br />Activities <br /> <br />During the last l5 months, the ICWP has enlarged its role <br /> <br /> <br />as spokesman for the states on water and land related resources <br /> <br /> <br />issues and has become an interpreter of the Federal perspective <br /> <br /> <br />for the states. Significant recent activities include: <br /> <br /> <br />a) Review of Proposed Principles and Standards <br /> <br /> <br />for Planning Water and Related Land Resources <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Under a telegram dated March 22, 1972, to Executive <br />Committee members of ICWP, the Executive Director of WRC <br />requested assistance from ICWP in the consolidating of views <br />and expressions received during public meetings and by mail on <br />the Proposed Principles and Standards for Planning Water and <br />Related Land Resources. Officers of ICWP conducted a telephone <br />poll on the availability of a State employee to work in WRC <br />offices in Washington, D.C. for an estimated two-month period. <br />As a result of this poll, it was decided that a well-qualified <br />employee from the State of Utah would be available for the <br />assignment. Consequently, Mr. J. G. Christianson reported to <br />WRC offices on March 27, 1972, to work with WRC staff and other <br />Federal officials on the assignment.
