Dominquez Reservoir a, Purpose - This multipurpose project would develop water of the Gunnison river for hydroelectric power and municipal and industrial uses. b, Status - The draft feasibility study and EIS have been completed, The draft study analyzed the project primarily as a hydroelectric peaking power facility. c, Issues - The peaking power component of the project has proved infeasible due to high costs. Alter- natively, the water which the project would develop might be needed for future M&I demands, Thus, the CWCB has requested Congress to appropriate additional study monies. The project proponents had urged the CWCB to seek authorization of the project for construction, but the CWCB declined to do this, 2. Grand Mesa a, Purpose - Water from several tributaries of the Gunnison River, which are north and east of Delta, would be developed and used primarily for irrigation, The project would also provide some municipal and domestic water supplies, b, Status - A concluding report was prepared in 1973 by the Bureau of Reclamation, but in 1977 project investigations were reinitiated, These investigations were recently concluded with a finding that the project is not economically justified under present federal criteria, Additional study of a reformulated project is now underway with funding provided by the CWCB. This study will be completed later this year. c, Issue - The financial capability of irrigated agriculture may not be great enough to support any project, 3, Yellow Jacket Project a, Purpose - This would be a multi-purpose project in the White River Basin with the majority of water -4--
