Purpose - The project would provide water for <br />irrigation and municipal uses. <br /> <br />b, Status - Authorized in 1968 as a participating <br />project of CRSP, Bureau of Reclamation has recently <br />concluded its study of this project with the finding <br />that it too is not economically justified, <br /> <br />c, Issues - Firm demands for use of municipal and <br />industrial water do not exist, A single purpose <br />irrigation project is not economically justified <br />under present federal criteria, Again, this is one <br />of the projects that was to have been constructed <br />concurrently with CAP. <br /> <br />6, Fruitland Mesa <br /> <br />a. Purpose - This authorized project would develop water <br />for irrigation of supplemental and full service <br />land, <br /> <br />b, Status - The project was authorized in 1964 as a <br />participating project of CRSP, A definite plan <br />report was completed in June, 1967. A repayment <br />contract with the Fruitland Mesa Water Conservancy <br />District was executed in 1969. Construction funds <br />were not appropriated until 1977, and then were <br />deleted by the Carter Administration in 1978. <br />Because of the increase in construction costs since <br />1977, the project is not economically feasible under <br />present federal criteria, The Bureau of Reclamation <br />has terminated all activities on the project. <br /> <br />c, Issues - Plans on a reduced scale have been <br />investigated but have not proved economically <br />justified, This is not one of the projects which is <br />tied to CAP. <br /> <br />7. Savery-Pot Hook <br /> <br />a, Purpose - The project would develop unused flows of <br />Savery Creek in Wyoming and Slater Creek in Colorado <br />to provide irrigation water to lands in both states, <br /> <br />b. Status - The project was authorized in 1964 as a <br />participating project of CRSP. Construction funds <br />were appropriated in 1977, but were deleted by the <br />Carter Administration in 1978, Because of the <br />increase in construction costs since 1977, the <br /> <br />-3- <br />
