<br /> <br />. <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />. <br /> <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />- 8 - <br /> <br />in combination are required for. the oarrying out of said purposes and during <br />the passage of water through all of which control is claimed end kept for the <br />accomplishin~ of said beneficial uses for which said entire water system is <br />intended to be put, in order ~o make the same one and oomplete feasible <br />system for development of power, 'and for the application of water for domestic, <br />irrigational, industrial, reoreational, and other beneficial uses. <br /> <br />VII. <br /> <br />The character of uses of said water systems is as follows. <br /> <br />Irrigation, power, domestio, industrial and other purposes by means <br />of collecting ditches end reservoirs and pumping plants and canals diverting <br />said water to the Granby Reservoir, said water, together with intercepted <br />water, being pumped into Shadow Mounta,in Lake and flowing thence by meena of' <br />gravity from Shadow Mountain Laka togather with water intercepted by it into <br />Grand Lake, the maximum surfsce elevation of whioh is 8367.00 ft. being the <br />same as that of Shadow Mountain Lake. and thence flowing sai1 water out of <br />Grand Lake into the Alva B. Adams Tunnel, 13.1 miles under the Continental <br />Divide from the Colorado River watershed into the watershed of the South Platte <br />River, and thenoe by the Big Thompson River and by tunnels, oonduits snd <br />oanals fonning an aqueduct into reservoirs and canals on the Eastern Slope <br />or South Platte watershed, and therafrom to deliver the sa~e into the Little <br />and Big Thompaon Rivers, the Cache la Poudre River, the St. Vrain Creek, <br />Boulder Creek, and the South Platte River for delivery therefrom to oanals, <br />pipelines and other works of users for domestio, irrigation, power and <br /> <br />municipal purposea. <br /> <br />VIII. <br />There is also claimed end reserved by the claimants for domestic. <br />irrigational, and industrial uses all of the increment, eeepageand return <br />flow water which may result from the construction of the project and the <br />importation thereby from an extraneous sou rce. to-wi t: from the Colorado <br /> <br />River .atershed of a new and added suppl~ of water to average 320.000 acre <br /> <br />feet or more annually with normal expected shortages into the streams of the <br /> <br />South Platte watershed from whioh the irrigable lands within said District <br />derive their water supply; and the right is reserved on behalf of said Distriot <br /> <br />2657 <br />
