<br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />- 7 - <br /> <br />'amended and aupplemental aurveys thereof on August I, 1935, hereinafter <br /> <br />referred to as llaps Nos. 16510 (19 sheets), also filed with the State of <br /> <br /> <br />Colorado. The estimated total cost of the Project is $144,581,000 as of <br /> <br /> <br />October 15, 1946. <br />It is intended by said complete system to appropriete water for <br />storage and for the uses herein named, by said reservoirs, tunnels and pump- <br />ing plants, and also to direct diversion and use by means of said canals, <br />dams, conduits, pumping plants, tunnels and reservoirs and other hydraulic <br /> <br />structures in combination with the distributing canals from said rivers. <br /> <br />VI. <br /> <br />In the carriage of said water to the various uses for whioh it has <br /> <br />been appropriated, and in the transportation thereof to And through the <br />various power plants, reservoirs, aqueducts and canals to its ultimate points <br /> <br />of diversion from the said rivers on the ~estern Slope, the said natural <br /> <br />streams and aqueducts, are used as connecting conduits and along their courses <br /> <br />as a part of the channels thereof, there are temporary storage basine. power <br /> <br />plants, forebays and afterbays, all of whiCh are essential parts of said <br />transportation works and works used for applying said water for beneficial use. <br />The use of said water through anyone of said works is not in any way intended <br />to be a relinquishment of control thereof through said expansions basins, <br />pipe lines, tunnels. hydro-el~ctric plants and incidental basins for retaining <br />and regulating and stabilizing the flow thereof and control of said waters is <br />retained whether the same is being run in said artificial worka or is being <br />run in the channels of natural streams until ssid water reaohes the head gates <br /> <br />of the irrigation ditches and reservoir inlets which divert the water from <br /> <br />the Csche la Poudre River, Little and Big Thompson Rivers, St. Vrain Creek, <br />Boulder Creek, South Platte River, and other tributaries of the South Platte <br />River, and thereafter control is claimed of any water rights which are the <br />reault of importing into the South Platte watershed said water from said <br /> <br />outside sources. <br /> <br />The said system of worka ia one oontinuous combination of works <br /> <br /> <br />designed and intended for use in employing said water to all of the purposes <br /> <br /> <br />for which said Project was initiated and is being constructed, all of which <br /> <br />2658 <br /> <br />
