The emphasis will differ somewhat given the specific job functions ofDWR staff. <br /> <br />3. Workshop 3 - CRDSS Database Training Workshop for CWCB Staff. This workshop will address <br />training of CWCB staff in the use of the relational and spatial database functions of the CROSS. The woIkshop <br />will address example application scenarios identified in Workshop I, including step-by~ walk through of <br />procedures for defining database retrievals, intermediate processing and output format specification, and final <br />report generation. Focus group discussion of the application scenarios will occur to identiJy possible <br />modifications to the procedures and the format/content of information products and performance measures <br />generated. <br /> <br />4. Workshop 4 - CRDSS Database Training Workshop for DWR Staff. This workshop will address the same <br />scope as did Workshop 3. The emphasis will differ somewhat given the specific job functions of DWR staff. <br /> <br />5. Workshop 5 - CRDSS Models Training Workshop for CWCB Staff. This workshop will address training <br />of CWCB staff in the use of the CROSS modeling functions. These include Water Rights Modeling, <br />Consumptive Use Modeling, and Big River Modeling. The workshop will address example application scenarios <br />identified in Workshops I and 2, including step-by"5lep walk through of procedures for conducting model runs, <br />input and output data reviews, intermediate processing and output format specification, and final report <br />generation. Focus group discussion of the application scenarios will occur to identiJy possible modifications to <br />the procedures and the format/content of information products and performance measures generated. <br /> <br />6. Workshop 6 - CRDSS Models Training Workshop for DWR Staff. This woIkshop will address the same <br />scope as did Workshop 5. The emphasis will differ somewhat given the specific job functions of DWR staff. <br /> <br />Attendees <br />Attendees to the CROSS DNR WoIkshops will be identified by agency management from the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board and the Division of Water Resources. A target number of 15 attendees is based on considerations of <br />Briefing Room space. Attendees should come to the woIkshops with the intention to participate in a process of learning <br />and feedback Prior preparation of the User Survey (attachment) which includes ajob description and workflow <br />assessment should be accomplished. <br /> <br />Schedule <br />The schedule for delivery of the workshops is to begin in mid-October, thereafter an approximate bi-weekly <br />frequency until completion in mid-December. The DNR workshops are dovetailed with the other workshops as illustrated <br />on the attached schedule diagram. The DNR woIkshops are targeted for Wednesdays. The times will be from 9 AM to I2 <br />noon, a break for lunch, then a wrapup from I PM till 2 PM. <br /> <br />2.2 External User Workshops <br /> <br />Purpose and Content <br />External user woIkshops are directed to agencies and organinltions outside the State of Colorado Department of <br />Natural Resources. These include regional river basin agencies, federal agencies, water conservancy districts and other <br />organinltions as detailed below. The intent of the external user survey is to explain what the CROSS is, how it may <br />impact existing information gathering strategies, and how it will be used within and among the different users. <br />The external nser survey will be conducted using a focus group approach in which various user will be brought <br />together for a II2 day workshop consisting of a one-hour review of CROSS functions, followed by a focus group <br />discussion to determine information needs of the users, and how the CROSS might be used to organize and generate <br />information of water management decisions. Related administrative and policy issues will be discussed as well. A total of <br />four external user survey sessions; one each with the CRWCD, the NCWCD, Denver Water, federal agencies, and other <br />users. Other agencies who routinely WOlX with the above will be invited as appropriate. <br /> <br />Attendees <br />Attendees to the External User WoIkshops will be selected from the following agencies and groups: Colorado <br />River Water Conservation District, Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District, Denver Water, other municipal water <br />
