1047

-
Subtask 3.08 Assign Aggregated Irrigation Efficiencies

Objective: Estimate irrigation efficiency for the aggregated structures and update the Statemod
. dds input file.

Prerequisite: Demandts will be modified to calculate average efficienl;y for diversion structures
specified by the user.

Assumption: The acreage-weighted average of irrigation efficiencies for explicitly modeled
structures represents irrigation efficiency adequately for aggregated structures,

Approach:
1. Boyle: Execute demandts to calculate acreage weighted average monthly irrigation
efficiency for Phase II structures with diversion records.
2. Boyle: Manually update the .dds file to incorporate efficiency estimates.
3. Boyle: Prepare a Task Memorandum summarizing the process and results of this task, The
memo is expected to be approximately 2 pages in length.

Deliverables:
1. Acreage weighted average monthly irrigated efficiency.
2. Updated Statemod input file (.dds) incorporating aggregated efficiency estimates.
3. Task Memo

Subtask 3.09 Generate New .ddm and .ddh Files

Objective: Prepare Statemod ,ddh and ,ddm input files, The .ddh file will contain historical
diversions for Phase II structures and calculated demands for aggregated structures.
The .ddm file will contain calculated demands for all irrigation structures,

Prerequisite: Demandts will be modified to sum the irrigation time series for individual structures
represented in aggregated fashion.

Assumption: Historical diversion records for small irrigation structures are generally incomplete or
inadequate for modeling demand, For the aggregated structures, demand at the
headgate will be calculated by estimating consumptive use for all associated irrigated
acreage, and dividing by estimated efficiency,

Approach:
1. STATE: Prepare ASCII files that list the County/HUC for each structure in the Yampa
River Basin,
2. Boyle: Prepare a temporary or working .dds file for every structure tied to an irrigated
parcel, Le" for both explicitly modeled structures and the individual structures that are
being aggregated

Phase IlIa Scope of Services

A-33

June 12, 1996
