<br />e <br /> <br />001822 <br /> <br />2529.1 <br /> <br />TITLE 2500 - WATERSHED MANAGEMENT <br /> <br />2529 - NATURAL DISASTER AND FLOOD D~AGE SURVEYS <br /> <br />2529.02 - Objective <br /> <br />To identify and evaluate damage producing events causing <br />threat to life or property, site deterioration, or water <br />pollution; and plan appropriate corrective actions on the <br />affected watersheds. <br /> <br />e 2529.04 - Responsibilities <br /> <br />2529.04a - Regional Foresters. Regional Foresters shall: <br /> <br />1. Coordinate flood and other natural disaster surveys <br />with resource planning among National Forests, and with <br />similar efforts of other Federal, State, and areawide <br />agencies. <br /> <br />2. Arrange for obtaining quantitative precipitation <br />forecasts and assisting National Forests with timely flood <br />or high water warnings to expedite damage control <br />activities. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />2529.04b - Forest Supervisors. Forest Supervisors shall: <br /> <br />1. Investigate all significant disasters promptly, <br />appraising their impacts upon goals and targets, and recom- <br />mend program adjustments for consideration by the Regional <br />Forester. <br /> <br />2. Analyze environmental impacts. <br /> <br />3. Ensure Forest participation in state and local <br />early flood warning systems. <br /> <br />2529.1 - Reporting Requirements. Because of the variety <br />of conditions and circumstances involved, it is difficult <br />to place time limits for the submission of preliminary, <br />interim, and final reports.
