Maintaining project accounting records to help make <br />future project cost estimates. <br /> <br />2522.25 - Use of K-V Funds for Watershed Improvements. The <br />National Forest Management Act of 1976 (sec. 18) amended <br />the Knutson-Vandenberg Act to authorize use of K-V funds <br />for certain watershed improvements to protect and improve <br />the future productivity of the renewable resources of the <br />forest land on sale areas. Coordinating policies, authori- <br />ties, and instructions are given in FSM 6512.2. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Watershed specialists shall determine watershed improvement <br />needs during preparation of the sale area improvement plan <br />(FSM 2477.22) and shall provide oversight during installa- <br />tion of approved measures. <br /> <br />Include soil and water protection and enhancement activi- <br />ties in the sale area improvement plan (FSM 2477.22). Give <br />priority for soil and water resource projects to those <br />projects which would protect and improve future productiv- <br />ity of soil and water. Select projects _which will: <br /> <br />1. Enhance soil productivity for multiple resource <br />outputs on those sites that will provide measurable eco- <br />nomic returns. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />2. Stabilize actively eroding soils causing sedimenta- <br />tion which adversely affects water quality. Include stream <br />channel clearing and stabilization, bank stabilization, and <br />the obliteration of unneeded roads. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />2523 - BURNED AREA EMERGENCY REHABILITATION <br /> <br />2523.02 - Objective.
