Clu122'2

HYDROBASE Design

DWR staff has recently prepared a preliminary
design of a relational database that will incorporate
most, if not all, of the present data maintained by the
DWR, CRDSS consultants and representatives will
help refine this design over the next several months,

USBR's CRSM Porting

CWCB and DWR staff are currently converting the
USBR's Colorado River Simulation Model (CRSM)
from a mainframe environment to a personal
computer environment, The new USBR
replacement model for CRSM may not be available
in a timely fashion and the CRSM model may have
to be incorporated into CRDSS,

Other Model Review

CWCB and DWR staff have also invested
considerable time in the review of existing models
including the UBSR's AOP model (which we
anticipate incorporating into CRDSS), the USBR's
Hydrologic Information System, and the Gunnison
River Basin Model (under development for the
CWCB), This review will facilitate the design of
CRDSS interfaces and functionality,

CRDSS FUNDING (FROM CWCB CONSTRUCTION FUND):

1992 - Authorization of$362,000 was made to CWCB and DWR,

1993 - Authorizations included $ 1,420,400 for CRDSS development and $250,000 for
CWCB and SEa support ofCRDSS development for a total of$I,670,000.. The
State is purchasing approximately $ 150,000 ofhardwarelsoftware for the
consultant to use in CRDSS development as part of the $1,420,400 authorization,

1994 - Recently requested authorization of $ 1,744,000 for CRDSS development and
$250,000 for CWCB and SEa support ofCRDSS development for a total of
$1,994,000, The $ 1,744,000 compares favorably (less than) to the estimated
Year 2 Project development cost of$I,845,000 Project Cost indicated in the
feasibility study,

1995 - Authorization request will be made at end of 1994 for Year 3 of CRDSS
development. If using Feasibility Study cost estimates an Year 3 authorization of
$1,981,000 would be requested for CRDSS development. If added to the
$250,000 for CWCB and SEa support, the total requested authorization may
approximate $2,231,000,

1996 - Authorization request will be made at end of 1995 for Year 4 ofCRDSS
development, Ifusing Feasibility Study cost estimates an Year 3 authorization of

5
