<br />Conditions to be attained: <br /> <br />1) Facilities and activities within parks are in <br />compliance with Clean Air Act requirementsl <br />including state and local regulations. <br /> <br />2) Information to document air quality <br />conditions has been acquired. <br /> <br />3) A strategy to use available information to <br />remedy existing and prevent future air <br />pollution effects on park resources and <br />values has been developed, <br /> <br />· SCENIC - Maintain a full spectrum <br />of tangible and intangible attributes for <br />which the national recreation area was <br />established. Parks contain various <br />tangible natural and cultural features such <br />as animals, plants, waters, geologic <br />features, historic buildings and <br />monuments, and archeological sites. <br />They also have intangible qualities such <br />as natural quiet, solitude, space, scenery, <br />scenic vistas, a sense of history, sounds <br />of nature, and clear night skies that are <br />important components of visitor use and <br />enjoyment. <br /> <br />Conditions to be attained: <br /> <br />I) Intemal-viewsheds remain generally natural <br />and undeveloped as seen from within the <br />park <br /> <br />2) External-management for viewsheds that <br />are critical to providing quality recreational <br />experiences for park visitors is cooperatively <br />coordinated with adjacent land management <br />agencies, county planning entities, private <br />landowners, and transportation agencies. <br /> <br />3) Park development and park facilities do not <br />derogate viewsheds or other scenic qualities. <br /> <br />· PALEONTOLOGICAL <br />RESOURCES - Identify, protect, and <br />preserve paleontological resources, <br />including both organic and mineralized <br />remains in body or trace form, for <br /> <br />20 <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />interpretation, education, and scientific <br />research. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Conditions to be attained: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I) The extent of these resources is identified, <br />inventoried, and protected. <br /> <br />2) Interpretation of paleontological resources is <br />provided without endangering the resource. <br /> <br />3) Tbe integrity of paleontological resources <br />from effects of human use and fluctuating <br />reservoir levels is maintained. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />· CULTURAL RESOURCES- <br />Identify, preserve, and where appropriate, <br />enhance cultural resources for public <br />enjoyment, interpretation, education, and <br />scientific research. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Conditions to be attained: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I) Cultural sites are inventoried and <br />documented; significant sites are preserved. <br /> <br />2) An integrated research strategy has been <br />developed that allows effective and efficient <br />allocation of people and resources. <br /> <br />3) Interpretation of archeological resources is <br />provided without endangering the resource. <br /> <br />4) A long-range management scheme for <br />preservation and interpretation of narrow- <br />gauge railroad artifacts at Cimarron has been <br />developed. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />· VISITOR USE AND LANDS- <br />Determine the appropriate levels of <br />visitor use and experience and alternative <br />strategies for maintaining the diversity of <br />quality visitor experiences consistent <br />with Curecanti NRA's purposes and <br />significance. <br /> <br />Conditions to be attained: <br /> <br />I) A plan has been developed with public input <br />to guide the park in ensuring a quality visitor <br />experience, resource conservation, and <br />development of only those facilities deemed <br />necessary and appropriate. <br />
