File Name Conventiop~ ';fith
."'''',,-. v, '"
, . ~ I"
The following filename extensions for the optional files are as follows: ,.'. . .,' c'
. UF UFIL, optional report units, precision file.
.BA T Batch file. (There is a generic batch file to run all
procedures, refer to section 2.3 [page 13])
.TXT Text comments.

Operations Guide

NOTE: USER CREATED FILES HAVE A TWO CHARACTER EXTENSION, WHILE FILES
CREATED BY THE MODULES HAVE A THREE CHARACTER EXTENSION.

The main advantage of using these conventions is consistency. The files are named according
to the project, and the filename extensions are easily referenced by their purpose. It also simplifies
file management for a project and expedites recovery of archived files for any particular case.
The .TXT file is for comments. The intention is that someone else, sometime later, should be
able to recover all of the files for a given project/case; look at the text file to see what was done,
why, when, by whom; and reproduce the entire study or such parts of it as may be needed. This file
is not used by any of the HYDROSS modules and can be in any format you feel is appropriate.

2.2 Module Processing
The following modules may be run separately, or by Batch files.

2.2.1 H410 Table Processinl!: This module pre-processes the Tables.

To run H410, you need the following files:
TBLS (*.TS ) Table source file.

The program will generate the following files:
TBLB (*.TBL) Table File.
MSG (*.MSG) Message File. The message file will be appended to
any previous message file.

':

The filenames of the input and output file MUST be specified. Either use the following
format or the ProjectName option described in paragraph 2.2.8 [page 121. The options may appear
in any order. Each the filenames may be up to 63 characters in length, however DOS will not accept
all the characters should a full (63 characters) path be specified for each filename;

To run H410 using specified input files, use the following command:
H410 S=1BLS T=1BLB

ALWAYS USE H430 AFTER USING H410 AND BEFORE USING H400.

, !
!-..:

March 25, 1991

HYDROSS 4.1

Page 9
