,
i

SEP-14-1994 15'19 FROM RIVERSIDE TECHNOLOGY,INC

TO

13038664474275 'P.12

2. Initiate Data Collection Library (July I - December 15)

. RTi has continually been collecting water rights and policy data for the "library." Most of
the relevant data for the Gunnison basin has been acquired. RTi has prepared "draft"
narrative descriptions for the key operating rules and policies. . These are now ready for
internal review. It is estimated that this subtask is approximately 60% eomplete.

3. Review CRAM, Port Data and Constructs (July 1 - July 31; revised to July I - October 15)

. The review and understanding of the GUNMOD model is slightly behind schedule. Because
of the inability to meet directly with Hydrosphere until mid-August, the team bad to work on
its own, with assistance from Chuck Haines. The GUNMOD data have been ported to the
MODSIM environment, although it is now our understanding that Hydrosphere has made
modifications to some of the input data. On September 7, the CROSS team had its first
meeting with Hydrosphere and is now awaiting the detailed summaries of the network
constructs. Because understanding of the basic policies and administration of the Gunnison
basin is very dependent upon understanding and knowledge of the GUNMOD model, it is
estimated that this task is abollt 70% percent complete.

4. Develop MODSlM Prototype (June 15 - October I; revised to June 15 - October 15)

. The physieal network for the MODSIM model for the Gunnison River prototype is complete.
Work is continuing on the development of the more complex reservoir accounting links and
exchange links. Progress was slowed because of extra time being spent analyzing methods
to improve Ihe execution time and documenting the currenl slatus of the MODSIM model (as
requested by the State inCSU Subtask A). At this time.. additional information to be
provided by Hydrosphere is very important to completing the development of the reservoir
constructs and accounting links. It is estimated that this subtask is about 60% complete.

5. Perform Initial MODSIM Runs (August 22 - October 21)

. A number of test runs have been made for the physical network of the MODSIM model for
the Gunnison River basin. . Additional runs will be made as the accouAting links and
reservoir constructs are completed and implemented. It is estimated that this work is about
20% complete.

6. Calibrate MODSIM Model (August 14 . November 25; revised to September 19 -
November 25)

. No significant effort has been expended on this task. Given the development status of
Subtasks 3. 4, and 5, it is anticipated that the schedule for this subtask will end on time.

7. Develop DMIs for Demands (July 10 - September 1; revised to August 15. October 21)

. The development of the DM! for this task is now underway with the development of low-
level DM!s 10 access pertinent information from tbe database. Work on Ihis subrask is now
abol,lt 5% complete.

1509

"''''.....

11
