<br />002236 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />e. The Congress provide Reclamation with <br />specific appropriations to conduct future <br />5-year reviews of the Floodway as required <br />by the Colorado River Floodway Protection <br />Act. <br /> <br />f. The Congress direct Reclamation to establish <br />general bank erosion and protection <br />guidelines for private lands along the lower <br />Colorado River and to maintain an active <br />advisory program with local Flood plain <br />Administrators. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />g. The Congress provide Reclamation with <br />sufficient appropriations through its <br />Colorado River Front Work and Levee System <br />Program to conduct, with full consideration <br />of federal, state, tribal, and local <br />development plans for lands adjacent to the <br />river, a comprehensive assessment of needs <br />for bank erosion control and protection, and <br />channel improvement and training structures <br />for the Floodway elevation flow, and <br />establish a priority program of <br />implementation for needed improvements. <br /> <br />h. The Congress direct Reclamation, and provide <br />it with sufficient appropriations, to <br />conduct general assessments of needed river <br />bank stabilization and tributary flood and <br />erosion control, consistent with reservation <br />development plans, for the five Indian <br />reservations along the lower Colorado River <br />and that, based on those assessments, <br />establish a priority program for imple- <br />menting needed improvements. <br /> <br />i. The Congress provide Reclamation with <br />sufficient appropriations in its Colorado <br />River Front Work and Levee System Program to <br />construct bench marks at river mile markers <br />to denote the Floodway boundary elevation. <br /> <br />lO. Bureau of Indian Affairs, <br />Department of the Interior <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />a. The Congress provide sufficient continued <br />funding, in accordance with Section l5 of <br />the Colorado River Floodway Protection Act, <br />to ensure that the remedial measures <br />recommended by the Task Force are followed <br />through on. <br /> <br />IV-7 <br />
