Bureau of Land Management, Department of the <br />Interior <br /> <br />a. The Congress direct the Bureau of Land <br />Management (BLM), and provide sufficient <br />funding, to: <br /> <br />l. advise all existing and future lessees <br />of federal lands adjacent to the river, <br />administered by BLM, as to the Floodway <br />and its provisions, <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />2. review BLM federal leases and use of <br />federal lands adjacent to the river for <br />consistency with the operation and <br />maintenance of the Floodway, <br /> <br />3. determine, with the assistance of the <br />Bureau of Reclamation, necessary reason- <br />able and prudent steps to be undertaken <br />by the 1 e sse est 0 m i n i m i z.e <br />inconsistencies of the operation under <br />such leases with the operation and <br />maintenance of the Floodway that will be <br />required if existing leases are to be <br />extended and such steps that are <br />necessary for the protection of personal <br />property and improvements, <br /> <br />4. advise lessees, at the earliest possible <br />date, of any required reasonable and <br />prudent steps for protection of property <br />and consistency with the Floodway to <br />allow lessees the option of undertaking <br />such steps at an earlier date. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />IV-5 <br />
