<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />00222! <br /> <br /> <br />Community, County, and Tribal Flood Control Entities <br /> <br />(A) In cooperation with the Bureau of Reclamation, <br />Corps of Engineers, Bureau of Indian Affairs, and <br />the Soil Conservation Service of the Department <br />of Agriculture, assess the feasibility of flood <br />and erosion control measures for major <br />tributaries including small dams, dikes, flood <br />walls, runoff interceptors, flow detention and <br />erosion control facilities, and other measures to <br />decrease runoff rates. <br /> <br />(B) Evaluate possible changes in land management for <br />lands vulnerable to flooding and flood-related <br />high ground water levels, including consideration <br />for maintaining such areas for open space uses <br />such as recreation, agriculture, and wildlife <br />habitat accomplished through land transfers, <br />relocations, or public acquisi tion . <br /> <br />United states Geological survey, <br />Department of the Interior <br /> <br />In cooperation with the Bureau of Reclamation, <br />assess the need for additional tributary gaging <br />stations for the verification of tributary flood <br />flow contributions used in the computation of the <br />Floodway elevation flow and for the purpose of <br />flood warnings, and to install and operate gages <br />deemed necessary. <br /> <br />United States Army Corps of Engineers <br /> <br />Incorporate the Colorado River Floodway and i.ts <br />provisions in the upcoming review of the Hoover <br />Dam Flood Control Regulations, including consi- <br />deration of potential improvements in the <br />coordination of tributary flood control releases <br />from Alamo Dam on the Bill Williams River and <br />Painted Rock Dam on the Gila River in support of <br />the Colorado River Floodway protection Act. <br /> <br />United States Section, International Boundary <br />and Water Commission, Department of State <br /> <br />Consult and coordinate with the ~exican Section, <br />International Boundary and Water Commission, on <br />the Colorado River Floodway and its provisions. <br />The Mexican Section should be apprised as to the <br />Floodway elevation and flow for the river reach <br /> <br />III-13 <br />
