...~ I

iiL Review recent (1991-1995) US Bureau of Reclamation consumptive uses and
losses reports for the Colorado River Basin to better understand procedures
and formats,
IV. Prepare a memo summarizing the interviews and reviews. A draft memo will
be provided for state review and be finalized considering state comments.
b. Characterize typical user levels for the CRDSS CU tool and outline procedures
(creating an abbreviated procedures guide) for those users.
i, Describe typical user groups (different analysis levels) for the CRDSS CU
tool. Those user groups may include:
(I ) Users interested in quickly determining potential CU at climate
stations.
(2) Users interested in historic (water supply limited) CU determination
for ditch system or other area, or analysis for the need for additional
water supplies (i.e. Northern supplemental source analysis).
(3) Users interested in stream depletion calculation (Le. similar to
Gunnison Basin consumptive use tool)
(4) Users supporting StateMod demand data creation.
(5) Users determining consumptive uses and losses for a basin or
subbasin.
ii. Prepare an outline of CRDSS system procedures for each user group to
accomplish their objective. Included will be a data flow diagram on how data
would be retrieved from the central database, what Data management
interfaces (DMI) should be used, what CU model features are needed, etc.
iii. Prepare draft and final (after state comments) memos describing the typical
user groups and the procedures they would follow in their determinations of
consumptive use.
c, Evaluate the procedures described in subtask Ib for data requirements, DMI
requirements, cu model functionality
L Data requirements of the procedures compared to existing data and database
structure in the centralized data base. Identify required data or database
structure that does not currently exist in the centralized CRDSS data base.
Review of current CRDSS database documentation may be required for this
subtask.
II. Functionality of current data management interfaces (DMI) will be compared
to requirements of procedures. The current CRDSS DMI documentation will
be obtained and reviewed for this subtask.
iii. FunctionaIity of current consumptive use model code compared to procedllre
needs. The current CRDSS consumptive use model code and documentation
will be obtained and reviewed for this subtask.
iv. Prepare a draft memo for state review with sllggested enhancements to the
database, DMI's and CD model logic. Incorporate state comments into a final
memo.

1550

,
2
