OTTER, Page 2 of 3

I
J

Project Manager for feasibility report and later construction drawings and
specifications for development of a 200 acre farm for use of liquid digested
sewage sludge as crop fertilizer. Supervised and coordinated design, and
economic evaluation for selection of application method, land leveling,
sludge pipelines, surface and subsurface drainage, and environmental pro-
tection faci Iities, Also supervised design of flood control facil ities includ-
ing a retention basin, spillway, pumping plant, river channel improvements
and drainage system. (One year assignment)

Project tv'anager for planning and design of drainage system for develapment
of ricelands in Guinea, Africa. Supervised final designs and construction
drawings for open channels and control structures to drain about 12,000 acres
of coastal lands which are flooded during much of the year by very high rain-
fall and high tides. Duties required two trips to Guinea to coordinate the
field and office work, and supervision of engineers and draftsmen assisting
with the work. (Two year assignment)

Brief assignment in Bolivia, South America, to eva luate irrigation potential
in connection with a hydro power plant.

Regional sewerage plan for Southeastern Wisconsin. Work included: detailed
derivation of unit prices for sewers: layouts and cost estimates for sewer sys-
tems; and analysis of capacity of existing systems in order to determine the
least costly method of providing service to the seven-country region.

Kewaunee Nuclear Power Plant. Reviewed and revised shop and construc-
tion drawings for the cooling water intake structure.

Milwaukee Basin Plan - flood control, pollution abatement and recreation.
Work included: layouts and cost estimates for three dams and several alter-
natives to separation of combined sewers, derivation of river backwater
curves, low flow augmentation studies, and ana lysis of land val ues.

Prepared feasibility grade hydrologic investigations, layouts and cost esti-
mates for three small flood control and recreation dams in Southwestern
Maryland,

Selection of the most promising reservoir sites within the two counties of
Maryland adjacent to Washington, D.C. Reservoir purposes included irri-
gation storage and water oriented recreation.

Analyzed and reviewed design capacity of the Left Bank Outfall Drain -
an apen drain planned to convey about 15,000 cfs of agriaJltural drainage
water from the lower Indus Basin of West Pakistan.

Made preliminary computations and preparation of design memoranda for
sludge application, land development and drainage at a 2,000 acre site
in Illinois.

Made preliminary computations, layouts and cost estimates for the Chicago
Deep Tunnel Project; a pollution control plan to store storm water runoff
in underground caverns for later treatment,

I
ffi

~

I
J

~db
