<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />· PALEONTOLOGICAL RESOURCES- <br />Identify, protect, and preserve <br />paleontological resources, including both <br />organic and mineralized remains in body or <br />trace fOff'-l, fur illierprelalion, education, and <br />scientific research. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Conditions to be attained: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I) The extent of these resources is identified, <br />inventoried, and protected. <br /> <br />2) Interpretation of paleontological resources is <br />provided without endangering the resource. <br /> <br />3) The integrity of paleontological resources from <br />effects of human use and fluctuating reservoir <br />levels is maintained. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />· CULTURAL RESOURCES - Identify, <br />preserve, and, where appropriate, enhance <br />cultural resources for public enjoyment, <br />interpretation, education, and scientific <br />research. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Conditions to be attained: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I) Cultural sites are inventoried and documented; <br />significant sites are preserved. <br /> <br />2) An integrated research strategy has been <br />developed that allows effective and efficient <br />allocation of people and resources. <br /> <br />3) Interpretation of archeological resources is <br />provided without endangering the resource. <br /> <br />4) A long-range management scheme for <br />preservation and interpretation of narrow-gauge <br />railroad artifacts at Cimarron has been <br />developed. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />· VISITOR USE AND LANDS - <br />Determine the appropriate levels of visitor <br />use and experience and alternative strategies <br />for maintaining the diversity of quality visitor <br />experiences consistent with Curecanti NRA's <br />purposes and significance. <br /> <br /> <br />Conditions to be attained: <br /> <br />I) A plan has been developed with public input to <br />guide the park in ensuring a quality visitor <br />experience, resource conservation, and <br /> <br />development of only those facilities deemed <br />necessary and appropriate. <br /> <br />· INTERPRETATION - Determine the <br />level of government and private sector <br />educational services, using state-of-the-art <br />methodologies to enhance the visitor's <br />experience and provide educational and <br />interpretive programs. <br /> <br />Conditions to be attained: <br /> <br />1) Park continues to serve as a center for outreach <br />programs with school systems, developing <br />seminars and curriculums. <br /> <br />2) Educational programming is provided year <br />around at existing park facilities using <br />appropriate natural and cultural park themes. <br /> <br />· COMMERCIAL SERVICES - Identify <br />the optimum level of commercial services to <br />be provided and their complementary role in <br />accomplishment of the park mission. <br />Commercial services include anything <br />offered to the public or private individuals, in <br />which park resources are used and that <br />results in compensation of any kind to an <br />individual, organization, or corporation. <br />Compensation may be "for profit" or "non- <br />profit" under local, state, or federal law. <br /> <br />Conditions to be attained: <br /> <br />I) A commercial services plan has been completed <br />to provide long-term strategic guidance for <br />management of commercial services. <br /> <br />2) Consistent with the Concessions Policy Act of <br />] 965, the commercial services plan evaluates, <br />through the planning process, those services that <br />are necessary and appropriate for the present <br />and future visitors to each park. <br /> <br />3) The commercial services plan identifies: <br /> <br />. commercial services and facilities that <br />are necessary and appropriate <br /> <br />. levels of services and facilities essential <br />to serve visitors <br /> <br />. types of facilities necessary to support <br />commercial services <br /> <br />15 <br /> <br />0021"~ <br />
