A second level specification

of components was made to determine which components are relevant to

the Yampa and Green Wild and Scenic Rivers Study area and the action

available to planners under authority of this study.

Although no specific conflicts were found between wild and scenic river

designation and water resource development projects, the State Compre-

hensive Outdoor Recreation Plans (SCORP) for Utah and Colorado indicate

a demand for increased river recreation use. For example, in the

Colorado

portion of the !~mpa Basin, adjusted SCORP figures indicate a
(,;f, ()I'JO O\A '$ J~ f'r<(jS
an additional 214,394 recreation {days for canoeing or rafting

need for

in streams in 1975. Participation in this activity is projected to

increase 52 percent by 199q _~n the study area. Therefore, increased
river recreation use was identified in the second level specification

of NED componentso
