.

.

The Wheeler Ditch is listed in, the CORSIM I I data base as a right

for 18.1 cfs, but was only operated in the simu'lation at a capacity

of 6 cfs. At the present, 8.1 cfs of this right has been decreed

absolute and the remaining 10.0 cfs is conditional and in good

standing. The Wheeler Ditch diverts from the South Fork main stem,

and we believe this ditch can probably be developed to its full

entitlement in the future. At ful I capacity, the ditch would place

an additional demand for 12.1 cfs of diversions from the South Fork

during the irrigation season. We estimate that the average additional

diversion by this ditch would amount to about 1,200 AF per year and

,that the corresponding reduction in the yield of the Rangely Project

might average around 550 AF per year.

From our records it appears there are about 43 sma! I rights or portions

of rights that are not listed in the CORSIM II data base and which are
senior to the Rangely Projeci: Nearly all of these rights are smaller

than 3.5 cfs and all of them were conditional. Presumably they were

not in operation at the time of development of the CORSIM data base.

Since in the CORSIM model the small .rights that were in operation

historically were in effect "left in the gage," only those conditional

rights which have since been perfected and placed in operation would

affect the computed' yield of the Rangely Project. Three of these rights

have been recently made absolute and are presumed to be in operation.

0247 \
"
~, \:
'-L\ '- ;
I

- 12 -
