.1

"l5.

1. STATE: IdentifY diversions in the Yampa River Basin which are tied to irrigated land but have no
location. Define locations for these headgates, Update the CROSS ArcInfo formatted file of
"Diversions" to include these structures.
2. STATE: ModifY StateMod to allow reports providing a list of structures (wdid) modeled in a given
simulation, Run this option with the Phase II Yampa River .dds file,
3. STATE: Define locations for all baseflow nodes contained in the Phase II Yampa River Basin
Model. prepare a location file for these suitable for import into an Arc View file.
4. STATE: Set up a project in Arc View (SGI version) with the following elements:
. River Basins (with Yampa River Basin differentiated by color from other basins)
. 500K hydrology
. Phase II modeled structures created above should be imported into the project file.
. Irrigated lands for the Yampa River Basin (showing only cropland (types 1-9) with
irrigation flag), The irrigated land table should be joined to table of Phase II modeled
irrigation structures, and used to color differentiate Phase II lands from other lands.
. "Diversions" (this table should be joined to the irrigated land table so as to only plot those
structures tied to irrigated lands and joined to the table of Phase II modeled irrigation
structures to allow one to color differentiate Phase II diversions from other lands.)
. The location table of Phase II base flow nodes created by the State should be imported
into Arc View and used to plot these locations.
. This project file and any associated files should be placed on cando at the conclusion of
this task,
State: Prepare a Arc View layout of the above map layers. Prepare a 36 by 48 inch map using the
layout.

Deliverables:
1. STATE: A revised "diversions' file containing all locations of Yampa River diversion structures
tied to Yan1pa River irrigated lands,
2, STATE: A list of structures modeled in Phase II.
3. STATE: A file of Phase II baseflow nodeJocations in a fom1at suitable for import into ArcView,
4. STATE: A ArcView project file with the layers indicated in3, above,
5. STATE: A 36 by 48 inch map generated from ArcView,

Task 3.03

Aggregate Irrigation Structures

Objective: Determine which diversion structures should be grouped together and decide where the
structure representing each group's aggregated operations should fit into the river network, Develop
crop distribution data for each aggregated irrigation group for use in Task 3.09.

Assumptions: The STATE will provide an Arc View script which allows crop types to be summarized
for an aggregated irrigation structure,

Approach:
1. Boyle: Based on mapping developed in Task 3.02, group diversion structures not modeled in Phase
II together in consideration of the following factors:
. baseflow hydrology (primary factor)

Phase IlIa Scope of Services

\lU',

Jan31,1997

A-22
