,

.

Exhibit A cont.

.

... h .

"

. Can the pumping associated with a well be separated into that occurring from
the major Denver aquifers?
. How will the proposed SPDSS interact with the existing modeling efforts of
the South Platte River Basin? Can duplication of effort be minimized?
. Are there endangered species issues that might impact future water use in the
Basin?
. Would a historic diversion record quality control review assist in developing a
SPDSS? What about the same for reservoir records and water rights?
. Can hydrologic data and maps be made more accessible to the general public
via the World Wide Web? Would they be ofvalue?
. Can the preparation of official historic diversion records be simplified and the
quality improved by allowing data to be enteredjust once?
. What geographic coverages and data viewing systems would be useful to
assist decision-makers in evaluating water resource problems?
. Is there a benefit to extending the relational database used by CRDSS and
RGDSS, HydroBase, to include the South Platte? Should all the components
in CRDSS and RGDSS be included in the SPDSS? What components need to
be added?
. Would the existing SB-5 Ground Water Model be a valuable tool to assist
decision-makers in evaluating water resource problems in the South Platte or
does it need to be updated or modified? Would a Consumptive Use model that
could accommodate various geographical units (e.g. climate station, a field, a
ditch system, or a basin) be a valuable tool to assist decision-makers in
evaluating water resource problems? Is it possible to incorporate the
Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District's consumptive use effort into
SPDSS?
. Would a Water Resource Planning model, be a valuable tool to assist
decision-makers in evaluating water resource problems. What enhancements,
if any, would be required to the model developed for CRDSS or RGDSS to
accommodate ground water pumping? How might it interact with a ground
water model?
. Is historic data sufficient to perform planning studies or should stochastic
data be developed?
. Is water quality modeling an issue? Is it a priority?
. What operational agreements, outside the priority system, need to be included
in SPDSS?

August 1, 2001

8
