FURTHER INTO T

.,

~-." ~j
,../

/

Peter: It's not actually lost, the money stays in the Severance Tax Account but what it means is
that we don't get it this year but our 5% window for next year becomes a little larger

Stanton:

I'm not sure about that.

?????

Will you check that out, I'm not sure if that's true

Wells:

Ok we'll see if we can't spend it.

????1

I'm not s\Ire we want to take the 20 away from this La Plata County rural

Sheftel:

Neither am I. I would like to fmd out more

Peter: I don't get the sense that they have a deal that's together yet but we did get some
correspondence sununarizing some of the recent efforts that

?????

We need to know something by early May for the Board Meeting

Wells: Right now we are talking about what we do this year, then we're going to talk about the
issues need to know by May. We'll leave things . My question
was whether on the back page _ year 2000 that are up, flood reconnance photography, stream gaging
stations, is there some of that that we could allocate to FY 99 that we can do before July 99. In other
words_

Peter: yes I think there is. We've already got quite a bit of money for gates and data collection
and I don't know if we want to try to push that or not. We've had lots of discussion about trying to digitize
flood maps as a way of helping communities use that information and we're told there are problems but
until we actually go out and try it I don't think we're going to know what the limitations are. So I think
that's one where we could try to get something started. The GIS technical assistance.

Sheftel:

Is that on here too?

Peter:

Yes, is that the GIS technical assistance?

Wells: I'm thinking of stream gaging portion it's already 40,000 for the year but I _I think
its something over which we have some control, _ maybe somebody else could try to do something
and then they don't.

Peter: Suppose the flood reconnaissance photography is something we could do. We have
10,000 out in the year 2000, we could move that up and get that started.

Stanton: You can't move from one column to the next but you could take from the money you
have identified. The total envelope you have for FY99 is the 275,000 so you can't

?????? What they are saying is their going to reprogram money in 1999 by eliminating priority
in 2000 to make up for the hole that's been created in 1999

Sheftel:

We took 75,000 we've only added back 30----95.000 be added that 38..

Wells:

30 to Jefferson 30 and 10 --------so we're still at 55,000.
