A list of attendees for the October 9, 1997 <br />meeting is attached. <br /> <br />The Study will be conducted in a specific area, as shown on the attached map. However, study <br />fmdings are expected to be broadly applicable to other mountainous regions along the Front <br />Range. <br /> <br />Janet Bell with the Jefferson County Planning Department met with the CWCB on July 9,1997, <br />and with the State Engineer's Office on July 15, 1997. Based on these early meeting, CWCB <br />Staff tentatively identified $20,000 from the Severance Tax Operational Account to be used to <br />help fund the study. <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />Staff recommends that a grant in amount of $20,000 be approved for Jefferson County, to <br />help pay for the costs of conducting the Jefferson County Mountain Ground Water <br />Resource Study, and that the grant come from Severance Tax Trust Fund Operational <br />Account. <br /> <br />Action Taken bv the CWCB November 24. 1997: <br /> <br />The CWCB approved the Staff Recommendation, with the added requirement that grant <br />funds will be used for water resource planning at the local level. <br /> <br />(Note: These grant funds will be available in State FY 1999, which starts Julv 1. 1998.) <br /> <br />Attadunems <br />D:\msword\JeffCoGrant.mcmo <br />
