,---:.......,-,
, '""'J
. ).

"
~
\

June 20, 1994
Page 4

COST, SCHEDULES, AND DIVISION OF RESPONSIBILITY

,

Enqineerinq Costs. The need to select and evaluate
alternative sites, and cost of geotechnical and mapping data
for each site, adds considerable cost to the study.
If we were to start brand-new (with no prior information) to
prepare a Feasibility Report of this nature, the fee would
probably be $15,000 to $18,000 dollars. Of that amount,
approximately $4000 would be for geotechnical investigations
and $4,000 to $5,000 would be for aerial photos and mapping.
These costs include engineering costs to coordinate the
geological and map subcontractors, and also to map both the
alternate sites and the selected site. The actual engineering
work for the remainder of the report would normally be in the
range of $8,000 to $9,000. At this time, the Norwood Water
Commission has expended approximately $7,500 for the geological
and mapping work, and about $1,300 forprel~m~nary eng~neering
~3e", lI.-.;1:achmen1: A) .

Our proposed cost to complete the Feasibility Report are
as follows:

1. Additional subsurface investigation with backhoe,
plus narrative report from Lincoln DeVore - $1,200

~

2. Additional on-site mapping (elevation shots)
and preliminary measurements

500

3. Engineering work by WWE for report preparation

Subtotal Cost

6,500
- $8,200

Add-on for more detailed map from Air Photos

- $1. 500

Total Cost

- $9,700

Billings will be submitted monthly based on actual costs.
A copy of our rate sheet is enclosed.

We had previously assembled a list of water rights for the
Preliminary Engineering Report. This may be adequate for the
Feasibility Study; however, if you wish to .have your attorney
review these rights to determine their validity, that would be
an additional cost. Please advise.

CWCB has provided financial assistance for preparation of
Feasibility Reports in the past. It may be possible for CWCB
to cover a portion or all of your costs for this report. Based
on the numbers given above, the total cost for the report is as
follows:

)\
