<br />~.._._-"~-~------"._-------_.~ ~-_._. <br />-- . . ) <br /> <br />Task 7 - Chapter V - Plan of Development - General <br />7.1 General <br />A summary of the present configuration of each of the three reservoirs shall <br />be presented along with a description of the physical status of the existing <br />facilities based on the comprehensive site inspections carried out under task <br />2. Included in this slllllllary shall be a discusssion of how the facilities <br />affect the municipal and industrial water supply to the city, fish and wild- <br />life, recreation, water quality and drainage. <br /> <br />The essential element of the Plan of Development shall be to investigate in <br />detail the existing Projects' deficiencies as identified by the previous <br />tasks, especially with regard to the site inspections, and to fonnulate <br />alternative solutions to correct noted deficiencies. The analyses shall <br />include geotechnical investigations and complete hydrologic and hydraulic <br />analyses of existing and proposed structures, as well as descriptions of <br />miscellaneous design considerations. These items are separated into subtasks <br />under task 8 for this Scope of Services. <br /> <br />The results of the preceeding tasks and the site evaluation work shall provide <br />the knowledge of existing conditions and detenuination of needs that will <br />guide the project team in fonuulating a range of solutions. The alternatives <br />derived for each Project shall be made as diverse as possible to assure the <br />broadest range of solutions are examined. The alternatives shall generally be <br />related to different methods of improving stability and seepage control 'of the <br />embankments, and upgrading outlet works along with various means of improving <br />flood routing capabilities. <br /> <br />Initially, the alternatives shall be defined and designed to a reconnaissance <br />level of detail. Enough analyses regarding the structural, hydrology, and <br />hydraulic capability' shall be perfonned to assure that the alternatives are <br />functional and practical. Sketches and basic layouts shall be drawn to <br />describe the alternatives and cost estimates shall be prepared. <br /> <br />-5- <br />
