I
I I
I

I

I
I

I
I
I
II
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I

The estimated annual storable flows with the Una decree for an

average runoff year, based on maximum, average and minimum development of

senior conditional water rights, are, respectively: 598,000, 863,000 and

1,102,000 ac-ft. For the Placita decree transferred to Una, these values

become 641,000, 866,000 and 1,103,000 ac-ft.

It is estimated that there would be no storable flow during a

critical dry year for the Una decree if maximum development of senior con-

ditional water rights occurs. If average 01" minimum development of these con-

ditional rights occurred, the storable flows during a critical dry year would

be 27,000 and 172,000 ac-ft, respectively. For the Placita decree transferred

to Una, these values become 70,000, 106,000 and 174,000 ac-ft.

RESERVOIR OPERATION STUDIES

Reservoir operation studies were performed to determine the water

yield for the various cases of storable flow and the power output which could

be generated. The studies indicate that for average development of senior

conditional water rights, the annual firm water supply of the Una Decree would

be 122,000 ac-ft initially, and with the Placita Decree transferred to Una,

the firm yield would be 175,000 ac-ft. After 100 years of sediment accumu-

lation these values would be reduced by 49,000 ac-ft.

PROJECT LAYOUT

Based upon studies of alternatives, a selected arrangement for the

project was developed as shown in Fig. S-2, which would include the following

features:

o An embankment dam approximately 160 feet in height above the
foundation with a crest length of 2,700 feet.

-3-
