Due to the potential for settlement in the foundation materials for the concrete <br />retaining wall, the reinforced earth design was considered to be the most feasible, Reinforced earth <br />can be built upon very soft foundations with settlement corrected as the wall is built in sequential <br />horizontal lifts, <br /> <br />The reinforced earth design would be built with compacted one-foot lifts of imported granular, 1,5- <br />inch minus backfill, separated by horizontal layers of geogrid, A shotcrete facing would then be <br />applied with one to two layers of reinforcing wire mesh, Costs were evaluated for the reinforced earth <br />wall and are presented on Table 6, <br /> <br /> Table 6 <br /> Turnaround Construction Cost Estimate <br /> Twin lakes (a,k.a.
