Well No.2 is located in a pit in the northeast corner

of Block 2. It is reported to have been drilled in the middle 1930's.

The driller's log of the well is not recorded and the only data available

on the well was furnished by Holden-Holden Co., Hudson, Colorado, who

exchanged or repaired the pump in 1965 and 1968. The well is reported to

be 560 feet deep with 8-5/8" O.D. casing to 120 feet and 6-5/8" casing to

560 feet. Static water level is reported at 130 feet and a pump setting

of 340 feet~. The well is equipped with a 10 HP Sta-Rite submersible pump

Modal No. 90P6L3-2, Sere E-68. The installation is equipped with a 150

gallon pressure tank and a Fisher type 922 regulator and discharges direct

to the main. This well is currently out of service and apparently has given

unsatisfactory service for quite some time. Production from the well is

estimated at 60 gal10ns per minute by the Town and the well has a reputation

of producing black-colored water. An examination of drill logs of other

wells in the vicinity indicates coal seams to a depth of 178 feet so the

black~colored water

may

come from coal seams which were not cased.

Information is not available as to whether the casing was grouted or if the

we11 was gravel packed. The pump discharge is unmetered.

Well No.3. Well No. 3 is located in the northeast corner of Block 3.

The well was completed on 7/26/56 by Holden-Holden Co., Hudson, Colorado

and the drillers log, electric 10g and a geologist report are available'.

The well is 1450 feet deep with 6-5/8" O.D. casing set and cemented to 905

feet and 4!Z" O.D. casing from 894 feet to 1450 feet. The casing from 1333

feet to 1448 feet is torch slotted. The well. produced artesian flow with

a shut in pressure of 2 psi. The well was test pumped by bailing at 20 gpm

for 24 hours with a drawdown of 108 feet. The pump setting was 402 feet and

the well was equipped with a l5HP REDA submersible pump Model No. 10G120.

-16-
