Pipe
Elbow Flange

Pressure and Flow Tests

On December 18, 1975, Wright-McLaughlin Engineers took the following
pressure and fire flow tests:

.

Flow
Flow Pressure
Fire Hydrant Location (gpm) (psi)
Lorah Avenue 40 0
4th and High 120 0
Bridge at "A" 750 20

,

The analysis of the fire flow capability in the existing Hotchkiss water
distribution system indicates weakness and inadequacy:

For instance, the new Willow Heights Subdivision development north of
Ash Lane is served by 3-inch and 4-inch water mains. The high school
is served by a single 4-inch pipeline. These pipe sizes, when coupled
with the problem of the pipe and interior incrustations significantly
limit the availability of water for fire fighting purposes.

.

.
