Because of this similarity, and
since the CWCB has already stipulated that the Part 2 supply/storage facilities will not be included
in an initial project, no further discussion of Part 2 facilities is included herein.

Part 1 System
The existing raw water delivery system consists of:

a. A concrete diversion dam in Bear Creek, about o/.-mile upstream from Morrison,

b, Approximately 800 feet of old 10-inch steel gravity line, which traverses a steep talus slope
and goes through a rock tunnel.

c. Old masonry settling basins.

d. Approximately 3,000 linear feet of 12-inch cast iron pipe transmission line installed around
1961.

The Part 1 system is described in more detail in Chapter II of the Master Plan (refer to pages 7
through 10),

The 1978 Master Plan (Wright-McLaughlin Engineers), as well as later studies, proposed that the
existing facilities be improved, and that the gravity diversion concept be retained,

The 1994 WRC Report, which was submitted to the CWCB as a basis for the original financial
commitment, developed and evaluated two alternatives for improving the Part 1 system, This
evaluation was further developed in Addendum 1 by WRC Engineering, dated November, 1995,
WRC described four alternative plans:

70-080.039P:REPORT

II-2
