~'

.

.

"

Data to be collected shall include, but not be limited
to, ~treamflow records, wster rights tabulations, geologic and '
soils information, water diversion records, plans for
development, economic data, information on current and historical
water use and data for water conveyance and storage facilities.

Task 4 - Compile Hydrologic Data Base

The Contractor shall compile and analyze monthly
streamflow records of the Cache la poudre Basin for a selected
period of record. The period of record will be selected in
consultation with the State. The period of record shall include
a critical (dry) hydrologic period and shall reflect the
long-term historic average runoff.

"

The tontractor should attempt to utilize hydrologic
data developed by others where such information can be used in
succeeding tasks. ID particular, information developed by the
Colorado Water Resources Research Institute should be reviewed
for usefulness in the study.

In addition to monthly runoff data, the Contractor
shall obtain sufficient information on peak flows to be able to
estimate design floods for proposed facilities. The design flood
frequencies shall be established in consultation with the State.

The Contractor will compile sufficient data on sediment
transport in the Cache la poudre River upstream of Fort Collins
to be able to estimate sediment deposition at any proposed
storage sites.

Task 5 - Identify Existing and Potential Uses

The major project purposes to be investigated are
agricultural water supply, municipal and industrial water supply,
hydroelectric power generation, flood control and recreation.
The Contractor shall identify existing water uses in the Basin
and shall project future demands for these project purposes. The
potential use of project water for augmentation of irrigation
wells shall be considered as an aspect of agricultural uses.
Potential uses through water rights exchanges shall also be taken
into account.

The Contractor will identify the major water uses in
the Cache la poudre Basin to include average amounts and general
locations of use for agricultural, industrial and municipal
purposes. Each of the major water supply entitities in the Basin
will be identified along with present and projected water
demands. Planning horizons and development assumptions will be
establ ished in consul tation with the State.

-4-
