.
~.
( )

.'
,-)

TASK E14.0

DEMONSTRATION PLAN

Purnose:

Demonstrate the hypothetical operation of one selected alternative under two different

operating arrangements.

MethodoloIN: The hypothetical operation of one selected alternative will be demonstrated under two

operating arrangements: as separate systems cooperating through contractual arrangements

and as a single consolidated system. Hypothetical operations will be performed on a monthly

basis for one year using average year conditions over the period of April to October. Verbal

descriptions and numerical illustrations of these operations will be developed. The time and

cost estimate for performing this task was based on the assumption that Alternative G, being

the simplest alternative to demonstrate, would be used. If another alternative is selected

which involves significantly greater effort, Boyle will prepare and submit to the CWCB a scope

of work and budget for completion of this task.

The following work items are included in the demonstration plan task:

E14.1 Demonstrate Physical Ooeralion - The physical operation of one selected alternative under

both operating scenarios will be described verbally and illustrated numerically. Operations for

a single year using approximately average year conditions will be illustrated. All calculations

will be performed on a monthly basis. Water sources, storage locations, destinations for

ultimate use, and transfers between distribution systems will be accounted for. The possible

locations for measurement of flow and storage and potential water accounting systems

necessary for operations under each scenario will be described.

38
