The Town of Silt is presently constructing certain water
facilities to correct deficiencies in the system~ These
initial phase water facilities include new horizontal
wells to replace the existing infiltration galleries,
a raw water lift station to correct the hydraulic in-
adequacies of the supply system and a 12 inch water main
construction.

2. We recommend that the Town acquire additional senior water
rights.

3. As second phase construction (estimated project cost
$1,400,000), we recommend that the Town construct the
following facilities:

A. A new clearwell, pumping and chlorination station
of 750 gallons per minute capacity.

B. A 800,000 gallon storage tank at elevation 5680.
This will supply adequate pressure for health and
fire protection demands.

C. A 14" transmission main from the distribution system
to the storage tank.

D. A backbone water distribution system consisting of
l2", 8" and 6" water mains to provide c~apacity to
meet demands.

E. Meters for all services to reduce water demand.

F. A 12" parallel water main crossing the Colorado River
to provide system redundancy.

~ ~--- -~ --
