(-

.

i. Consider potential exchange arrangements with water
users located both upstream and downstream from Una,
and determine the effects of such potential exchanges on
the generated inflow data to Una Reservoir. Required
reservoir releases would not be affected by the
exchanges.

Task 9 - Operation Studies for Water Yield and Power
Generation

The Contractor shall:

a. Review the 30 years of monthly reservoir inflows and
monthly project storable water, both with and without
the use of the Placita Reservoir decree, for the three
conditional water rights scenarios developed in T~sk 8.

b. Review the water demand schedules and the probable
points of diversion for project water as developed in
Ta~k 13.

c. Adapt the Contractor's existing monthly reservoir and
power operations program to reflect the water rights
scenarios and the expected points of diversion of
project water. The desired monthly operational
variables will be specified for output in a monthly
tabular format.

d. Utilize the operations program for each water rights
scenario, both with and without the use of the Placita
Reservoir decree, to determine the maximum project firm
(no deficiency) annual water yield based upon the
critical low flow sequence of the 30-year inflow series
developed In Task 8. Maximum water yield at the end of
50 and 100 years of reservoir sedimentation shall also
be determined for each scenario, both with and without
the use of the Placita Reservoir decree, based upon the
revised reservoir capacity curves developed in Task 7.

e. With project operation based upon maximizing firm water
yield, the operations program will be utilized for each,
as appropriate, water rights scenario, both with and
without the use of the Placita Reservoir decree, to
determine the average annual generation for a series of
trial power plant installed capacities with plant
factors ranging from approximately 40-60%. The average
annual generation will be based upon the 30-year inflow
series developed in Task 8 and on the initial reservoir
capacity curve. This information will be input to Task
15 a5 part of the data to determine the selected power
installation.

-9-
