Thus, no increases in water use,
taps or population are expected in the future. Future water use is
expected to remain the same and present water use and fire flow
demands will also remain the same.

Design Flow - The present maximum day demand plus a fire flow of 1000
gpm is selected for design, because peak hour domestic use is less
than the required fire flow. A fire flow of 1,000 gpm will meet pre-
sent and future requirements.

Water Supply

Kelton Heights Water District taps into a 30" Denver Water Department
conduit for a source of potable water supply. The 30" conduit is
capable of carrying up to 10 million gallons per day. The Denver
Water Department can supply up to 800 million gallons per day with 520
mgd filtration capacity and 300 million gallons of storage. Kelton
Heights Water District's present peak consumption is .42 million
gallons per day based upon Maximum Day plus a fire flow of 1000 gpm.
Adequate supply to the District is provided by the Denver Water
Department.

Water Rights

The only water rights pertaining to this project are those rights
defi ned in the "Di stributor' s Contract" between Kelton Hei ghts Water
District and City and County of Denver, Board of Water Commissioners.
The contract defines two entities; the people of Denver referred to as
"Inside Denver" and "Outside Denver" refers to the total area fur-
nished potable water outside the City and County of Denver. In times
of shortage, water supply to Outside Denver can be limited by an
amount determi ned by the Board of Water Commi ss i oners enab 1 i ng them to
provide adequately for users Inside Denver. Outside Denver water use
is curtailed according to the following:

13
