Geologic Feasibility Study and Reservoir Site Page 4 The boundaries of the Study Area have been drawn in consideration of geotechnical or geological factors as related to (1) known or suspected geological, hazards which are located within and adjacent to the proposed project area and which hazards may be exacerbated by installation of the proposed project fac il iti es; (2) reservoir slope stabil ity; (3) reservoir seepage; and (4) relevant geological features which extend some distance outside of the project area proper as described or illustrated in existing geological literature. Every effort has been made to limit the area of ,investigation without excluding parcels of land where exposed geological information could be important for the purposes of this investigation. Pro,posed Coffi ntop Dam and Reservoir Site As shown on the attached Exhibit A, the Study Area of the Coffintop site. shall be considered to consist of an area of land which is located in north central Boulder County, Colorado, at a point in South St. Vrain Canyon approximately one and one-half miles upstream from the town of Lyons. More specifically, the Coffintop Study Area is located: in Township 3 North, Range 70 West of the 6th Principal Meridian Section 19 - the West ~ of the West ~ Section 30 - the West ~ of the Northwest ~ in Township 3 North, Range 71 West of the 6th Principal Meridian Section 22 - the Southeast ~ of the Southeast ~ Section 23 - (a) the East ~ and; (b) the South ~ of the Southwest ~ Secti on 24 - Secti on 25 - Secti on 26 - Secti on 27 - all all all except the Southwest ~ of the Southwest ~ all except (a) the West ~ of the West ~; (b) the Northeast ~ of the Northwest~; and (c) the Southeast ~ of the Southeast ~. SCOPE OF SERVICES The consultant hereby proposes to conduct an Engineering Geologic Feasibility Study of surface conditions in the Study Area as specifically related to the proposal to design and construct the dam and reservoir therein. The proposed feasibility study will include a limited amount of UEBLACKER ASSOCIATES. INC.
