"

.

.

. hlVestigate a replacement for the time-series view form currently used in the StateCU GUI
with a form that allows more flexibility for the user. StateCU GUI currently uses a "flex-
grid" form to view time-series input and tabular output of the simulation. This type of form
does not enable the user to "copy and paste" from the StateCU GUI to other programs, such
as Excel. Because the investigation performed during the development of this scope did not
identify a suitable replacement, this task is limited to 3 hours of further effort.
. StateCU will not currently estimate supply-limited consumptive use for the year if diversion
records are missing for any month of the year. Revise the StateCU FORTRAN code to
estimate supply-limited consumptive use for a year if diversion records are missing during
the non-growing season.
. Revise the StateCU GUI code to provide an option to write the detailed water budget output
(* .dwb) to a comma-separated file that can be directly read into a database. The current
format of the detailed water budget output is a formatted ASCII file appropriate for use
directly in reports. However, this format is difficult to bring into ACCESS or EXCEL, so
that queries can be easily made of specific structures and time periods.
. Revise the StateCU Documentation to address the following concerns:
Remove references to the StateMod documentation when describing input files that
are used by both StateMod and StateCU. Instead, duplicate the descriptions required
to format and generate these common input files.
Add a section that provides a step-by-step example for creating input files to
StateCU. To date, the procedures manuals developed for each scenario have been
stand-alone documents.

Task 2.2 Revise Existing Capabilities
Revise StateCU to revise or correct the functionality of the following forms:
. When certain options are chosen through the GUI, new filenames must be specified in the
response file, For instance, if the original scenario was a potential consumptive use scenario,
a historic diversion file (* .ddh) was not required but must be supplied if a water supply-
limited analysis is chosen. The GUI needs to check that the additional corresponding
filenames have been specified under the Edit ... Input File List screen and give the user a
message indicating the option cannot be enabled until the filename is provided, The
following file type checks need to be added:
If water supply on, * .ddh and * .par files must be provided
If soil moisture options, * .par file must be provided
If ground water option on, * .tsp and * .pvh files must be provided
If water rights option is on, *.ddh, *.par, and *.ddr files must be provided
If depletion analysis, *.ddh, * .par, * .ddr, and * .d1y files must be provided
. The Water Budget Report under the View...Tabu1ar Results selection allows multiple
structures to be highlighted, but only displays a single structure. The other output options in
this window correctly allow the user to scroll through the highlighted structures. That
functionality needs to be corrected to enable viewing of water budgets for structures selected.
. The map zooming feature becomes disabled after accessing the View... Tabular Results
window, and potentially other windows.
. The graphing component currently used in the StateCU GUI is no longer supported. A new
charting program has been identified, and purchased, to replace the old software. This
graphing package will be incorporated into the StateCU GUI and code changes will be made,
as required, to provide the existing functionality,

Page 13
