Make oral status reports to the ewes staff not less <br />than every two weeks, with written status reports every <br />four weeks. <br /> <br />Task, 2 - Meetings <br /> <br />The Contractor will participate in five one-day <br />meetings of the project advisory committee and will prepare <br />exhibits or displays, as appropriate, for these meetings. It is <br />anticipated that meetings also will be required with various <br />State and Federal agencies for information and data collection as <br />well as with CWCs staff for discussion of project-related <br />matters. <br /> <br />Task 3 - Review of Existing Data <br /> <br />For tasks four through ten of this Scope of Services, <br />the Contractor will utilize existing data whenever possible. <br />Published and unpublished data available from agencies and <br />institutions such as the Bureau of Reclamation, the U.S. Army <br />Corps of Engineers, the Colorado State Engineers Office, the <br />U.S. Geological Survey, and the eWeB and others will be reviewed <br />for possible use in the study. <br /> <br />Task 4 - Geology and Geotechnical Investigations <br /> <br />The purpose of this task is to investigate the general <br />geologic conditions of the' project area, the geologic suitability <br />of the dam site and the availability of construction materials to <br />provide a basis for preliminary design of the dam and appurte- <br />nances and for preliminary relocation of existing roads, <br />railroads and utilities. The work will include: <br /> <br />a. Analysis of existing site conditions to include <br />consideration of various techniques for preventing <br />excess seepage through the ancient South Platte <br />channel. <br /> <br />b. Investigation of several possible alternative borrow <br />areas for clay construction materials. <br /> <br />c. A literature review of available published and <br />unpublished data. <br /> <br />d. An air photo analysis to locate contacts between <br />surficial and bedrock geologic units and provide a <br />preliminary large-scale geologic map of the dam and <br />reservoir area. Photogeologic units will be evaluated <br />in order to determine potential geologic hazards and <br />borrow areas. <br /> <br />-3- <br />
