<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />"Rehabilitation and Betterment Report" Uncompahgre Project, Colorado, dated <br /> <br />April 1981, the coat of which the Vnited States will finance; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Contractor ~nd the United States agree that the work <br /> <br />program hereinafter described is necessary for the continued operation of the <br /> <br />Project, and repayment of this work program is within the ability of the <br /> <br />Contractor to repay the United StateS; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, in conaideration of the covenants herein contained, <br /> <br />it ia agreed by the parties hereto as foliows.; <br /> <br />DEFINITIONS <br /> <br />1. When used herein, unless otherwise distinctly expressed or manifestly <br /> <br />incompatible with the intent hereof, the term: <br /> <br />(a) "Secretary" or "Contracting Officer" shall mean the Secretary <br /> <br />of the Interior or his duly authori~ed representative; <br /> <br />(b) "year" 'shall mean the calendar year; <br /> <br />(c) "fiscal year" shall tllean the period October I, through the next <br /> <br />following September 30, or as the Federal fiscal year may be modified by <br /> <br />Congress; <br /> <br />(d) "quarter" shall mean a 3-month period beginning the 1st day of <br /> <br />January, April, July, or October in any year; <br /> <br />(e) "work program" shall mean and include the undertaking of reha- <br /> <br />bilitation and betterment as set forth in Article 2 subject to such modifica- <br /> <br />tion as may be agreed upon; <br /> <br />(0 "Project works" shall mean and include all wOICks and facilities' <br /> <br />of the Uncompahgre 'Project heretofore constructed, and all works and facili- <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />.1 <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />ties installed, constructed, rehabilitated, repaired, realigned, bettered, or <br /> <br />extended puICsuant to Article. 2 or any agreed-upon modifications thereof; <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br />Article 1 <br />
